Resilience can be developed

 

Although we would all love to be stress free, inevitably when running a business we face setbacks, whether at home or work. Some of these might be relatively minor while others are on a much larger scale.

Whatever you may be experiencing now or may yet face it’s important to know how to handle problems in a way that helps build strength and most importantly resilience.

Resilience is a skill that we can develop as it gives us the capacity to overcome problems and setbacks. It doesn’t mean that we experience things as any less difficult or upsetting than other people or that we become hard and uncaring. It just means that we are better able to handle and overcome change, loss and disappointments without feeling overwhelmed and falling apart.

Here’s how to develop resilience in you and your business…

~ Nurture and develop a good support network of family and friends~

~ Ask for personal and professional help.

~ Be realistic about the situation yet keep a positive view of yourself and your abilities.  What would your future self say about what you are going through?

~ Have a compassionate, loving and kind approach towards yourself – always!

~ Develop self awareness and the ability to manage emotions effectively

~ Make a plan to take you forward.  You’ll feel better when you have something else in place

~ Practice extreme self-care – meditation, relaxation, energy rich food, use essential oils.  When you feel good you’ll think differently and make better decisions than when you are stressed and anxious.

Even though life may be difficult or disappointing at times, somehow you’ll emerge with greater growth and courage in your business.
