There are so many ways to market our businesses that it can lead to frustration and overwhelm – and possibly meltdown if you try to do too many.
What I’ve learned, particularly with social media, that it’s best to get established on one platform, (before moving on to another), to focus on where your tribe hangs out, develop your community and not try to be everywhere all the time.
Plus, choose a context which feels right for you and where you can add value.
The one platform that I’m loving at the moment is Instagram, which is where I’m putting my attention currently.
Are you on there? I would love to connect with you.

Here’s why….
~ Instagram has high engagement rates (higher than Facebook) and on the whole has positive interactions.
~ It allows you to easily visually represent you and your business through photos and videos as well as captions and hashtags. People can get a sense of your personality and your wider interests which helps build your brand.
~ You can quickly respond to interactions and post comments and build community. Through Instagram I’ve made friends and created connections and have had in person meetings.
~ I receive inspiration from other’s profiles and it sparks my creativity. Particularly useful if I run out of ideas!
I love images and photography so for me the platform is something I enjoy (although it can be distracting scrolling through all the pictures!)
However, I know there are downsides such as finding a good photo to post, not being able to target your audience, it doesn’t support clickable links in posts and not everyone is on Instagram. There’s also the danger of Insta envy!
But for the moment I’m learning and experimenting to see what works and spending more time on there.
If you’re there or planning to join let’s meet! I would love to see your photos.
